Description
This better-than-ever steak marinade, inspired by Gordon Ramsay, delivers a flawless mix of bold flavor, fresh herbs, and balanced acidity to transform any cut into a restaurant-worthy masterpiece.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and lemon juice if using.
- Place your steak (ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, or flank steak) in a large resealable bag or shallow dish.
- Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 8 hours, allowing the flavors to deeply infuse the meat.
- Before cooking, remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels for a superior sear.
- Grill, pan-sear, or air-fry to your preferred doneness. Let rest a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs for the best flavor, but dried can be substituted in a pinch (use 1/3 the amount).
- Do not reuse marinade that has touched raw meat unless boiled first.
- Ideal for 2 to 4 medium steaks depending on size and cut.
