Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

8 slices frozen Texas toast (garlic butter flavor)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra toasting)
Instructions

Preheat oven according to Texas toast package instructions.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess grease.

Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

Arrange Texas toast slices on a baking sheet. Bake according to package directions until golden, flipping halfway if needed.

Top each toast slice with a scoop of sloppy joe mixture and shredded cheddar cheese.

Return to the oven for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
