Description

Oreo Dirt Cake is a dreamy, no-bake dessert featuring creamy layers of sweet pudding and whipped topping, all nestled between heaps of crushed Oreo cookies. This nostalgic treat is perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or any occasion that calls for a crowd-pleasing dessert. Simple to make and decadently delicious, it’s sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies

Cream Cheese Mixture

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Pudding Layer

  • 1 package (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk

Whipped Topping

  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Alternatively, put them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Prepare the Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk together for about 2 minutes, until thickened.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture, stirring until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Add Whipped Topping: Carefully fold in the thawed whipped topping until incorporated.
  6. Layer the Dessert: Spread half of the crushed Oreos in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Pour the creamy mixture over the Oreos and spread evenly.
  7. Add Final Layer: Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos evenly over the top to create a “dirt” layer.
  8. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the dirt cake for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the layers to set. Serve chilled.
