Ingredients
Scale
Puff Pastry Base
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Filling
- 4 oz brie cheese, rind on or off, cut into small cubes
- 1/4 cup jam or preserves (such as raspberry, fig, or apricot)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Garnish
- Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry. Cut the sheet into 24 even squares.
- Shape the Cups: Press each puff pastry square into the wells of the mini muffin tin, ensuring the dough forms a cup shape in each well.
- Assemble the Filling: Place a cube of brie into each pastry cup. Top each with a small spoonful of your chosen jam and a sprinkle of chopped pecans.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Gently brush the exposed edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to ensure a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Finish & Serve: Allow the brie bites to cool slightly in the tin. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can use your favorite jam or preserves—raspberry, fig, and apricot work especially well.
- If you prefer, remove the brie rind for a smoother bite, though it’s edible and adds flavor.
- Swap pecans for walnuts or omit altogether for nut allergies.
- Mini brie bites are best served warm, but they’re still tasty at room temperature.
- To make ahead, assemble brie bites and refrigerate unbaked; bake just before serving.
