Description

Grinch Dip is a vibrant, no-bake holiday dessert dip that channels the cheer of the season with its signature green color and whimsical sprinkles. Creamy, sweet, and cookie dough-inspired, it’s the perfect fun treat to serve with cookies, fruit, or pretzels at Christmas parties.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Green gel food coloring (a few drops, to achieve desired color)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, cold
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon milk, if needed for consistency

For Garnish

  • Red heart sprinkles
  • Red & green jimmies

For Serving

  • Graham crackers
  • Cookies
  • Fruit (such as sliced strawberries or apple wedges)
  • Pretzels

Instructions

  1. Heat-Treat the Flour: In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the flour in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until it reaches 160°F, or bake it on a baking sheet at 300°F for 10 minutes. Let the flour cool completely before using to eliminate any potential bacteria.
  2. Cream Butter Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, kosher salt, and a few drops of green gel food coloring together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Adjust the food coloring for a vibrant Grinch-green hue.
  3. Combine Flour and Dough: Add the cooled, heat-treated flour to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. If the mixture is too dry or crumbly, add 1 tablespoon of milk to reach a soft, dip-like dough consistency.
  4. Whip the Cream: In a separate chilled bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until medium peaks form, about 2–3 minutes with an electric mixer.
  5. Fold Ingredients: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cookie dough base until the mixture is smooth and evenly colored, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Transfer the Grinch Dip to a serving bowl. Sprinkle red heart sprinkles and red & green jimmies on top for a festive finish. Serve with graham crackers, cookies, fruit, or pretzels for dipping.

Notes

  • Heat-treating flour is important for food safety in no-bake recipes.
  • Use gel food coloring for the most vibrant green without thinning the dip.
  • The dip can be made up to a day ahead; store covered in the refrigerator and stir before serving.
  • Easily double the recipe for a larger crowd.
  • Experiment with different dippers to suit guests’ tastes.
