Description

These soft and chewy garlic parmesan breadsticks are baked to perfection on a sheet pan, making them an easy and delicious addition to any meal. With a buttery crust and a flavorful topping of garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese, they’re sure to be a hit with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups warm water (105°–115°F)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Using a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment, gradually add the flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until the dough forms a loose ball.
  3. Cover the mixing bowl with a dish towel and let the dough proof for 30–45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Pour half of the melted butter onto the bottom of the sheet pan and spread evenly.
  5. Place the dough in the center of the sheet pan. Starting from the middle, press the dough outward toward the edges until it covers the entire bottom of the pan.
  6. Pour the remaining melted butter over the top of the dough, ensuring the entire surface is covered. Evenly sprinkle the parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning over the top.
  7. Let the dough rest for 15–20 minutes, allowing it to rise to about 1 inch thick.
  8. Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into breadsticks of your preferred size.
  9. Bake the breadsticks for 18–20 minutes, or until they are lightly golden around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure water is warm but not hot to activate the yeast effectively.
  • Letting the dough rest before baking enhances its texture and rise.
  • Customize the seasoning to taste or add a sprinkle of mozzarella for extra cheesiness.
