Ingredients
Scale
For the Salad
- 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 2 cups garlic croutons (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
For the Dressing
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Make the Dressing: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic until the mixture is completely smooth and well integrated.
- Emulsify the Dressing: While continuously whisking, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the dressing becomes creamy and slightly thickened. Taste and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to your liking.
- Prepare the Lettuce: Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce, then chop it into bite-sized pieces. Place the lettuce in a large salad bowl.
- Assemble the Salad: Add the garlic croutons and grated Parmesan cheese to the romaine lettuce in the bowl, distributing them evenly.
- Toss and Serve: Pour your desired amount of Caesar dressing over the salad, then gently toss until all the ingredients are evenly coated. Plate and serve immediately, topping with extra Parmesan if you wish.
Notes
- For richer flavor, let the dressing sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before using.
- Add grilled chicken or shrimp to make this a complete meal.
- Homemade croutons add the best crunch and flavor, but store-bought work for convenience.
- If you prefer a lighter dressing, use light mayonnaise or substitute with Greek yogurt.
- To keep the salad crisp, toss with dressing just before serving.
