Description

These crispy cheeseburger egg rolls are a fun and flavorful twist on a classic favorite. Combining seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, tangy pickles, and mustard, all wrapped in a crunchy egg roll wrapper, they make for an irresistible appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped dill pickles or sweet pickles
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard, or to taste
  • 1 (16 ounce) package egg roll wrappers
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook and stir the ground beef and chopped onion for about 10 minutes, breaking up the beef into crumbles as it cooks. Drain the meat and transfer to a bowl.
  2. Stir in the chopped pickles, shredded cheese, and mustard, mixing well.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a bowl of water next to your work surface.
  4. Place an egg roll wrapper on the work surface with a corner facing you. Place about 1/4 cup of the filling on the wrapper.
  5. Fold the top corner down over the filling. Tightly roll the wrapper into a cylinder, tucking in the corners as you roll, until the wrapper completely encloses the filling.
  6. Moisten the last corner with a little water to seal the egg roll. Ensure there are no gaps to let the filling leak out.
  7. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  8. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Fry the egg rolls a few at a time until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as a mix of mayonnaise and ketchup.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
  • Chill the filling slightly before wrapping to make it easier to handle.
  • Egg rolls can be baked or air-fried for a lighter option.
