Description

Cajun Corn on the Cob is a quick and flavorful side dish featuring sweet corn brushed with melted butter and bold Cajun spices, then grilled or roasted to smoky perfection. It’s ideal for barbecues, weeknight dinners, and any occasion where you crave a little southern spice on your table.

Ingredients

Scale

Corn

  • 4 ears of corn, husked

Cajun Butter

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt, to taste

To Serve

  • Lime wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill or Oven – Set your grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). Preheating ensures your corn cooks evenly and gets that delicious char.
  2. Prepare the Corn – Place the husked corn ears on a tray. Generously brush each ear with the melted butter, making sure every side is coated. This helps the Cajun seasoning stick and keeps the corn moist during cooking.
  3. Season Liberally – Sprinkle Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt evenly over all sides of the corn. Adjust salt to taste, keeping in mind that Cajun seasoning may already contain salt.
  4. Grill or Roast the Corn – Place corn directly onto the hot grill grates or oven rack. Cook for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the corn is lightly charred in spots and tender throughout.
  5. Serve – Remove corn from heat. Serve hot, offering lime wedges on the side for a fresh, zesty squeeze, if you like.

Notes

  • You can use frozen corn; just thaw and pat dry before seasoning and grilling.
  • For extra flavor, try adding minced garlic or chopped herbs to the melted butter.
  • If you prefer less heat, use a mild Cajun blend or cut the amount by half.
  • No grill? Roast the corn in a 425°F (220°C) oven, turning occasionally, until charred.
  • Squeeze fresh lime over the hot corn for an added burst of freshness.
